iTwitter unexpectedly beat out Twittelator, Tweetie, Twitterrific, Tweetdeck, Twitterfon and all the other major iPhone Twitter apps to become the first true Push-enabled Twitter client on iPhone. iTwitter pushes mentions and direct messages.
However, there is a catch and it’s a big one. Push notifications are only received if the other person is using iTwitter too. So basically, its not that useful.

Remember the Milk, a to do list and task management application, is adding iPhone Push Notifications.
We’ve also snuck in one much-requested bonus feature: Push Notifications. For those not familiar with this new feature in iPhone OS 3.0, the Apple Push Notification service allows RTM to send instant task reminder alerts to your device.
After updating and launching the RTM app, you’ll be prompted to allow Push Notifications for RTM: Once allowed, RTM will start sending reminders to your device via the Push Notification service.

IM+ with Push Notifications is out NOW… If you’ve already got the old version, simply update your apps. We’d love to write a review on the app, but it constantly crashes, so we can’t. Maybe you’ll have better luck.
UPDATE: OK, after deleting and reinstalling IM+ it works in a more stable fashion.
IM+ or Beejive?
We’ve done some user testing and we’ve found Beejive to be the clear winner, it’s faster, more zippy and responds quicker to key presses. IM+ crashes LOTS, and has less settings to enable you to customize your chat experience.
Our IM client of choice is still Beejive, however it is $13, compared to IM+ at $5.

Beejive has been taken down from the App Store, we’re not quite sure why yet, but quite possibly it’s because it simply has too many bugs. After using it for the past couple of days, we’ve found it to be very buggy, and we wouldnt be surprised if Apple, or customer complaints led to its removal until bugs are ironed out.
