So long as you don’t want to UNLOCK your iPhone, but simply install Cydia apps, then using GeoHot’s Blackra1n is perfect for you.
The simple jailbreak takes literally 30 seconds, and installs one app – Blackra1n in your spring board.
From here you can install one of three, Cydia-style apps (Cydia is one of them), each with their own merits.
We tried the Blackra1n jailbreak on a 1 week old iPhone 3GS and it works perfectly… However some apps like iBlacklist (which is on our essential top 10 Cydia Apps list) failed to work properly. But these bugs will no doubt be cured over the next few days/weeks with updates.
How to get Blackra1n for iPhone 3GS
- Download Blackra1n for Mac or PC at www.blackra1n.com
- Unzip file
- Open the App
- Hit ‘make it rain’
- wait 30 seconds
- iPhone will reboot
- DONE!
