Today is the day that Apple turn on Apple Push Notifications for iPhone. What does that mean for you and I? Well… every app that you wish wouldn’t ‘logout’ when you quit, now doesnt. For example, you are using IM+ and are logged in to MSN Messenger on your iPhone… When you hit the home key, rather than logging you out, it now STAYS connected, and so all your friends will still see you as ‘online’, and if they message you, you get a pop up on your iPhone like an SMS. Apple’s super smart technology has enabled this to work with all your favourite apps and not drain the battery life.
Every week, we will release this weeks Top 10 Apps that support Push. This is so new, on launch there is only one app (AIM) that supports Push. However later today, we expect other apps to go live with Push Support. Here is our first list of apps that support push, that ’should’ be released in the next day or so. If you already have these apps, you just need to update them in the App Store.
