Download VisuContacts from the iTunes App Store, and you’ll not want to use your standard Contacts App again… VisuContacts is a clone of the standard Contacts app however it puts a small icon next to your friends name’s making it far easier, and more pleasing on the eye to go through your contacts.
But I don’t have photos of all my friends in my iPhone?
Try downloading FriendSync. FriendSync will put your friends profile pictures from Facebook in to your Contacts, saving you the trouble of adding them manually.
FriendSync and VisuContacts are two apps that work very well together to enhance your user experience on the iPhone.

i tried visucontacts. it seemed like it had potential, but it just didn't integrate very well with the rest of my phone.
for instance, if i wanted to add a person to my favorites, the “add to favorites” button on the contact's info page didn't work. i had to open the visucontact app and do it manually.
also, i have my home button set to go to my favorites when i press it twice. it will only go to the phone's favorites instead of visucontact's favorites.
also, my iphone is jailbroken and my “dialpad skin” didn't work with the app.
i can nick-pick all day, but the bottom line is… visucontact is an independent app, not an integrated part of the iphone, so it's not very convenient when it comes to basic functionality.
if you have a jailbroken iphone, watch this video to learn how to show contact photos in your iphone contacts list: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM29ICZTBus

i prefer cycontact. it's faster than visucontacts and integrates better with all my contacts. i installed it through cydia.
cyntact isn't an app. rather, it's a simple add-on that mods the iphone's standard contact list to show your contacts' photos.
the difference between cyntact and visucontacts is this:
visucontacts is a separate app that syncs your contacts' photos with facebook (if they have a facebook) and shows you those photos when you open the app.
cyntact not an app, but rather a modification to the iphone's original contact list that allows it to show each contact's thumbnail that's embedded within the vcard. it's the same thumbnail you would see in your mac address book or your outlook address book.
