iTalk is a two-part software application. Download the iTalk app from the iTunes App Store and install it on your iPhone or iPod touch, for mobile recording and playback. Its companion program, iTalk Sync, runs on your computer to transfer recordings from iPod or iPhone for editing and sharing. iTalk Sync connects to your iPod touch or iPhone wirelessly via your local Wi-Fi network, and makes transfers a snap: just drag the recordings from iTalk Sync’s list and drop them onto your desktop. Recordings are saved as high-quality AIFF files, playable in iTunes and most other media players.

Unfortunately the desktop app does not work on Mac. It finds the iPhone but does not progress. The iPhone then reports: “Connection lost”. Shame.

Same problem for me as for GeoffH: iPhone reports “Connection with [my Mac] lost”. iTalk Sync app on my Mac stalls at “Please accept incoming sync request on your iPhone” screen.
Shame; I’d upgrade to the Pro edition if it worked…

Get this problem with my iPhone 2.2 & have tried on a Vista machine, an XP machine & a Mac mini. Same Connection lost error at each.
Very bummed. Wish I’d installed another recording app.

The new iTalk build update from the App store fixed my issues. Guess it was due to having “&” in my track names. Everything came down fine now! Thanks!

Same problem as Geoff, Ian and Chris, also solved by removing ampersands from recording titles….

I cannot get italk sync to work either. I have a iphone (not 3g) and imac (intel with 10.4.x). I have my iphone connected to a wireless network with the iTalk app running, and my computer connected to the internet (via ethernet…) and also I turned the airport on. But italk sync finds my iphone, and when I double click on it to connect it just stalls at “Connecting to blank’s iPhone” and “Please accept the sync connection from blankity on your iPhone.”
But I dont see any button or anything pop up on my iPhone that says anything like “accept”…

I have the same exact problem as Cathy.

I have the same problem as Cathy. I have iTalkSync for Windows (build 111) installed (and I even re-installed it again) and I can select my iPhone to connect to in iTalkSync, but then my iPhone never gives any signs that it is trying to be connected to from my laptop (Windows XP) and I never get any buttons “Allow” or “Deny” to continue. Is this a problem with the Windows version of iTalkSync?

I’m having same problem as well. I have a mac, it will not synch with iTalk sync. I have a 3G iphone. It’s a nice application, but useless if I can’t download the recordings. I’ve also looked at their troubleshooting advise, didn’t work either.

I have also been finding it impossible to download my italk recordings – they are trapped forever on my phone (and are without ampersands in the title).
Has anyone had any luck getting a response from Griffin about what to do to rectify this? It’s clearly a common issue.

you will have to click recoding while you’re trying in your italk in order to connect you iphone/ipod with your computer I tried that and it worked perfectly so glad! just wanna share with the ones who have same problem

Karn, do you mean you have to be in the recording screen, or actively recording to connect? Neither of those worked for me, nor do I have any ampersands in my recording names. Anyone have any other solutions to the lack of “accept” message on the iPhone.

Wow! If I open iTalk on my iPhone *after* I've opened iTalk Sync on the computer it connects fine, but if I open iTalk on the iPhone first it doesn't send the accept message to the phone.

This is incredibly annoying to sync *period* It works once every 25 trys or so… And I've tried various “open this first” and such.
