The iphone development team released the long awaited version of Quickpwn today for Mac OS X. This will allow you to quickly jailbreak firmware 2.0.2 without creating a custom .ipsw and restoring.
Note this will not jailbreak earlier firmware versions and will change the baseband apparently. It is currently available as a torrent and can be downloaded from here.

Photogene is actually a great example of how Mac OS X’s ‘Core’ Functions can be well applied to the iPhone, in this case, the colour and levels editing ability. There are the obligatory ‘comic’ style functions as we’ve seen in other apps, but where this app really comes in to it’s own is with the actual photo editing tools. If you really need to extract that extra detail from an poor iPhone photo, then this app will help you out when you’re on the go.

Touch Scan basically enables you to use your iPhone as a gimmick to help get you talking to a random hot chick in a bar. It’s a mindless bit of fun, simply ask Random Girl #55 to put her thumb on your iPhone, and you do the same too… The iPhone then ’scans’ your thumbs and guess what it says…? That’s right!!! “WOW! It’s a PERFECT match!”
Now this app would be REALLY funny if sometimes it said something negative, that would then make it quite fun for both ‘players’ and it wouldn’t make you look like such a tool.
VERDICT: 50% (harmless fun…)

nexus404 have just run this review on the new DUAL CHARGING iLuv for him and her iPhone charging… awwww how sweet…

One glaring ommission from iPhone OS X is the ‘To Do‘ app… We all need and hope that Apple finally release a To Do app for iPhone that syncs with Outlook or iCal.
Until that day there are a number of other solutions, most popular on the iPhone has been Remember the Milk with it’s ‘Getting Things Done’ approach.
iProcrastinate borrows some of these elements to make a nice and simple To Do List app with a nice level of grouping, and categories. Color code your tasks or use Smart Groups to help you prioritize and finish the tasks in hand.
According to the Developer, a Wireless iPhone to Desktop Version should be available by the end of summer… Two questions… What app’s will it sync with at the Desktop End? and … Summer in Europe or summer in Australia…???
This free app is available now.

At first glance you might think it’s an average iPhone dock, however its wall mountable! At just $100 I don’t care that it doesnt sound like a Bose Sound Dock, its wall mountable!
Just dock your iPod or iPhone and you can use the remote control to scroll through your tracks which appear on the classy blue LCD screen. Nice touch control features allow you to operate the unit without the remote and the alarm clock feature means that you can wake up to your iPod music and face the day in style. Also has built in FM radio and input option from SD card or USB so that it is always functional even without your music devices.
Something about this is just so cool, and it would sit really nicely on my wooden headboard. 100milligrams please send me one…

After all the fuss we’ve heard about AT&T kicking up a fuss about tethering and VOIP and Skype style apps on the iPhone, we’re quite surprised/happy to see this on the App Store; VOIP for the iPhone using the TruPhone VOIP service, which is actually not bad.
You buy credit, and then simply use TruPhone to dial out using the WiFi network anywhere in the world. This app ONLY works on WiFi (probably just to keep the networks happy) but it does mean two things…
- You can use VOIP on your iPhone at home on your WiFi.
- You can call anywhere in the world from your iPhone at great rates over WiFi
- You can use your iPhone anywhere in the world (where you are connected with WiFi and get no roaming charges
